To realize RH2C's vision of converting British Columbia's extraordinary but under-utilized wind resource into RH2, and thereby help Vancouver meet its GHG emissions targets and BC to become a global leader in the export of RH2, RH2C has partnered with FortisBC and Macquarie to develop the Sundance Hydrogen project.
FortisBC is an electricity and natural gas distribution utility in British Columbia, a subsidiary of Fortis Inc., Canada's largest private utility. FortisBC delivers more energy to end users than any other utility in the province. Its 2,400 employees serve 1.2 million customers across 191 communities, 56 of which are indigenous.
FortisBC owns and operates ~49,000km of natural gas transmission and distribution pipelines and 7,260km of electricity transmission and distribution networks. It is the first utility in North America to offer its customers renewable natural gas (RNG), a biogas produced from organic waste. Renewable hydrogen is a natural extension of this commitment to providing low-carbon energy.
